Literature Text

a feathered boa, torn by
the wind from the clutches of its owner seeks freedom
from a world of
evening dresses and champagne.
whipping wildly,
it swirls away from streamlined lights
that lose themselves in
waves and clouded darkness.

a seagull, swept too far from land
searches for refuge
from the twisted lightning
and gale winds.
caught unexpectedly by a
violent gust,
it becomes entangled with what was once a symbol of
the gusto of life, but is now the
fury of death.
helpless squacks do nothing to save
feather or feathered as they
plummet through the pitiless night.

deep beneath the sea,
a majestic whale cuts
through the calm. unaware
of fear, the leviathan notes
detachedly
the sinking mesh of
struggling life and impending death.
more concerned with food,
the shadow loses itself in the ocean's
murky darkness.
nothing can touch him.

here is where the poem is still under construction. i need to tie the cruise ship back in to the poem. how? i have a few ideas, but suggestions are going to be milked for all they are worth! ciao!
this isn't finished. i would like serious input plz.

to everyone who knows the beauty of a cruise ship.

i wrote this when i went to skagway with ~morphinedream08 and another buddy. It was a good time.

I wrote this when I couldn't sleep. I had watched the cruise ship sail away, and it always takes my breath away to see thousands upon thousands of tonnes of steel move so gracefully across water.

:? What's a feathered boa?

I have no idea what to do with this:shrug: I have no deep wells of emotion to describe abstractly. That's why I write descriptive or narrative accounts.
