Same background as .:moon on a string:., same inspiration (thank you Stephen Sondheim and Johnny Depp), Waaaaaaaaaay more work.

This is kind of a combination of Corpse Bride and Alice Through the Looking-Glass. The atmosphere of the piece was inspired by...well...Tim Burton, but the idea of the piano was from Corpse Bride directly. The idea of Looking-Glass World, where everything you can't see from the mirror is alive (pictures and clocks and chess pieces and such) kind of inspired the rest. I was going for a Beatrix Potter looking kind of landscape, with fuzzy creatures and birdies.

yeah, anyways, I had to purchase thie stock picture of the piano, but I think it works. This is probably one of my most complete pictures so far...I am pretty pleased as punch with it.

Inspired by the Song "Green Finch and Linnet Bird" from the musical "Sweeney Todd".

Piano purchased from
Clock ~tia-stock

Time: 3 hours-ish
Used Adobe Photoshop CS3
This is Entry #4 in the 100 Theme Challenge keyword "Dark"

Fullview recommended for looking at the background picture.

Edit: I think it is hilarious that upon typing the phrase "This is probably one of my most complete pictures so far..." I realized that I hadn't made the window frame fit into the picture...and it looked like shyte. So there you go. NOW it is one of my most complete pictures!

thank you. I personally love how the colors outside are very distinct, but not overpowering. This is one of those pictures that I had a great amount of luck in pulling off, and I think it was definitely a great turnout.

yeah there really aren't too many photo manipulations on this site that pull off a picture very well, but you did an excellent job

I LOVE the contrast of how it's all black and white indoors and there's so much color outside, there's a lot of interest, I absolutely love it!!!
